- With an Interactive Setup Wizard, built right into the editor -
Procedural, Scene-Fitted Spider Webs for Unreal Engine 5, EasyWeb is a procedural spider-web plugin for Unreal Engine 5 that builds realistic webs custom-fitted to your level geometry from a single seed.
Instead of placing pre-made web meshes or hand-decorating corners, EasyWeb generates the web the way a real spider would, frame, radials and a sticky spiral for an orb and messy 3D tangle for a cob web tightly wrapped, mummified sac for a cocoon. You choose where it attaches, and it fits itself to the walls.
Every seed produces a different web while staying completely deterministic.
EasyWeb has an Interactive Setup Wizard built into it, so it is easy to use and the user is guided step by step, its buttons do each step for you, live in your own level.
Whether you are dressing a horror level, a dungeon, an attic, a cave or a forgotten cellar, you place a web actor, snap it to your geometry, and reseed for variety entirely in the editor.
- Four spider-web styles
- Interactive Setup Wizard
- Anchors that snap to your geometry
- Seed-driven, deterministic variation
- Full C++ source
- No third-party libraries
“ Built on a clean, unit-tested geometry core and a guided Setup Wizard, EasyWeb was designed to be dropped in and used in minutes, and read and extended, not treated as a black box. ”
What Makes EasyWeb Different
Most web assets are static meshes you place and rotate until they roughly fit. EasyWeb takes a different approach: the web is generated procedurally around the anchor points you choose, so it actually fits the gap, corner or recess it lives in. Drag the anchors onto your walls, snap them to the surface, and the web spans them, no clipping, no hand-tweaking vertices.
And because every style is constructed the way the real spider builds it, the results read as genuine webs rather than a texture on a card: taut radials and a capture spiral on an orb, gumfooted trap lines dropping from a cob web, tight bandage wraps around a cocoon.
Learn It In Minutes with The Built-In Setup Wizard
EasyWeb teaches itself. On first launch, an interactive Setup Wizard walks you through the entire workflow, and its buttons do each step for you, live in your own level:
- One click places your first web actor and frames it in the viewport.
- Pick a style, Orb, Cob, Ceiling Cocoon or Ground Cocoon, and the wizard sets it up for you.
- Tune the web through grouped, live settings pages: shape and mesh, anchors and per-style options, variation and snapping, every change rebuilds the web in real time.
- Snap the anchors to your walls and reseed for a fresh layout, all from inside the wizard.
- Reopen it any time from Tools ▸ EasyWeb ▸ Setup Wizard.
Four Web Styles
- Orb Web: the classic wheel web: a frame, many radials to a suspended hub, and a sticky capture spiral, spun across a gap or corner.
- Cob Web: a dense 3D tangle for recesses, corners and undersides, with a spider's retreat and gumfooted trap lines dropping to the floor.
- Ceiling Cocoon: a lumpy, mummified egg sac of helical wrapping silk, hung from a suspender thread and guyed to nearby surfaces.
- Ground Cocoon: the same wrapped sac resting on the floor and webbed into its surroundings, with a floor cobweb that blankets the ground around it.
Fits Your Geometry
Drag each anchor handle onto the wall or corner you want it on, magnetic snapping sticks it to the surface as you drag, and one click snaps and aligns every anchor to the geometry. Webs stay in front of the surfaces they hang on instead of cutting into them.
Endless, Deterministic Variation
Every web's layout is driven by its seed, so no two need look alike, reseed for a fresh web, or lock a seed to keep a look. Density, sag, thread width and per-style options are all exposed and rebuild the web live.
Materials Included
Each style ships with its own material, silky orb, dusty cob, gluey cocoon, plus a floor cobweb decal for ground sacs. Override them with your own material at any time.
Built for Developers
- Full C++ source
- Unit-tested geometry core
- A clean, documented codebase
- Native UE5 dynamic-mesh geometry
- No third-party libraries
- Demo Project
Demo Level
A brick recess with each web style placed and ready to study, including a ground cocoon with its floor decal. Open it as a working reference.
EasyWeb Materials
Per-mode materials and a floor cobweb decal are included, so generated webs are ready to use immediately without additional assets.
Ideal For
EasyWeb is designed for any scene that needs believable webs and cobwebs, for example:
- Horror games: attics, cellars, abandoned houses and claustrophobic corners.
- Dungeon crawlers and RPGs: forgotten crypts, caves and ruins.
- Survival and exploration games: mines, sewers and overgrown interiors.
- Environment art and cinematics: instant, scene-fitted set dressing.
Dependencies
EasyWeb uses Unreal's built-in Geometry Processing plugin, which is enabled automatically. No third-party libraries. No external dependencies.
Documentation
Every public class, function and property is documented directly in the source code, providing tooltips throughout the editor.
The included Setup Guide covers installation, the Setup Wizard, every setting, materials and troubleshooting.
